There is no sugar-coating in what I am about to say. No twisting of reality or avoiding the dark truth to make people feel better.
Quarantine has been dragging us all through the dust and testing how many bricks everyone wants to weigh on their shoulders. Banging questions ponder in every crack in your mind. Is my family safe? Will my kid’s education suffer? What about my finances?
Every thought sprinting through you giving you the desire to bury yourself six feet underground. Don’t let this break you. Yes, the future is unpredictable. The past may be too painful to fall back on and we may have an uncertain future but that can be made in time. Nothing must be perfect.
Everyone thinks they must be titanium all the time when in fact they don’t have to be. The fact that you’re still holding on already makes you the hero of your story. Feeling like a failure doesn’t mean you are one. You’re not alone. We are stronger than our depression.
Mental illness is nothing to be ashamed of. It doesn’t make you any less human or an attention seeker, toss that stigma out the window. Speaking up about it may save someone or your own life. It raises awareness… I am going through the same thing I cannot see or imagine a time where things will be better, but I know it will be worth it Take a step back and breathe and never give up.
